As usual, the program of visits and excursions for the guests of the 46th Annual Meeting attempts to unite the culture, art, history, and traditions of the host city and its autonomous community. Pursuing this idea, and with the possibilities offered by a city like Granada, the definitive program will be announced soon.
This set of visits made during the three days of the Meeting is restricted to guests and has an additional cost to the registration.
Companion Program
We will walk through the narrow and silent streets, discovering surprising stories full of authenticity; we will visit emblematic places that will allow us to understand the idiosyncrasy of Granada, a city with a unique history and personality that remains alive in its most characteristic neighborhoods.
We will start our tour in the Carthusian Monastery, located in a beautiful area of Nasrid palaces and gardens, next to the Aynadamar canal. The monastery is one of the top Spanish Baroque works and houses important works by Sánchez-Cotán, José de Mora, José Risueño, Bocanegra, etc. After visiting the monastery, we will continue our tour towards the Granada Cathedral and Royal Chapel where the graves of Juana la Loca and Felipe el Hermoso are located. To finish, and after lunch, we will visit the Corral del Carbón and downtown Granada.
We will follow a route, with a specialized guide, through the Museum of the Birthplace of Federico García Lorca, in Fuentevaqueros, and the Federico García Lorca House Museum in Valderrubio.
