This year, the city of Granada will host the 46th Annual Meeting of the Spanish Nuclear Society from October 19-23, 2020 under the motto "Essential against climate change.”
The new edition of the Annual Meeting will be held at the Granada Exhibition and Convention (PCGR) and will have an interesting and intense technical program as its fundamental axis that is complemented with the participation of attendees in social and cultural events that will take place in emblematic spaces of the Nasrid city.
This convention, an annual meeting point for professionals and companies in the sector to analyze the current situation of nuclear energy and its future challenges, has an average participation of about 600 experts from the nuclear sector. The attendees will participate in sessions that update their knowledge on innovative aspects, not only from the nuclear sector, but also from other current areas with high technical and social interest.
The event will also feature a commercial exhibition where national and international companies and entities will present attendees with their products, technological advances, and the services that they offer to the sector.
Program
This edition will once again have an intense technical program that will include two general sessions, two single-subject sessions, and workshops of the utmost importance and relevance, dedicated to topics from the nuclear, energy or general interest sectors in which experts of the highest level participate.
The core of the program is the technical sessions, in which national and international professionals and experts present their work on relevant projects, outstanding scientific facts, or on progress in the different subject areas determined by the Technical Committee of the Annual Meeting. The papers are presented with parallel oral sessions, posters, or multi-media.
The congress will have an opening and closing session attended by nationally and internationally renowned scientists and executives from the sector, as well as local, regional government, and related authorities from the energy industry.
A Commitment to Outreach
Outreach and training for society in general are some of the main objectives for the Annual Meeting and for the Spanish Nuclear Society. During the week of the meeting, the Organizing Committee, Nuclear Young People, and Women in Nuclear will organize activities such as the Basic Nuclear Fusion Course, informative talks on science, the STEM Program, and the Mentoring Workshop, all of which highlight the importance of science and technology for society.
